The Fantasy of Lights Parade, held in Gatlinburg every year on the First Friday of December, is a fun filled, family friendly tradition in Gatlinburg. Visitors and residents will begin lining the streets early for the parade that begins at 7:30 PM. The parade will begin at the Baskins Creek Bypass on East Highway 321 and will turn and go down the Gatlinburg Parkway, through Downtown Gatlinburg to stoplight #10. It is a sight to see, a very fun parade.
Each year they hold the official Gatlinburg Tree Lighting at 7:25, this year at the Parkway Plaza at stoplight #3, near the Media grandstand area and signals the start of the parade. Businesses and bands, churches and organizations will be cheering Christmas Blessings for all to receive. Enjoy the bright lights, the music and all of the magic that Christmas can bring.
Thee Jimmy’s is an excellent place to plan to eat prior to the Gatlinburg Parade. We are located at 1359 East Parkway and have free parking. Warm up with a hot toddy and a delicious hot meal before you take off to enjoy the parade. Return again following the parade for a late night warmer upper!
This is always a fun weekend in the area. The Sevierville Christmas Parade is the following day, December 3rd, and is a great time from 4:00 to 5:30 each year at the Forks of the River Parkway in Sevierville, Tennessee.
